What is Respite care?

Respite care is a temporary form of relief care that allows primary caregivers to take a much-needed break from caring for a sick, aging, or disabled family member or loved one.

At Sheltering Hands Care, we offer respite care in the comfort of your own home. Whether you need a few hours of support each week or an extended break, our respite care services can help alleviate the demands of family caregiving, reduce stress, restore your energy, and promote balance in your life. Respite care can also prevent caregiver burnout, isolation, and exhaustion. Additionally, it provides your loved one with variety, stimulation, and a welcome change of routine, benefiting their overall well-being.

What forms of Respite care do we provide?

We provide both visiting and live-in respite care.

Live-in care: This is where a Sheltering Hands Care carer lives in your house, offering support and company day and night.
Visiting care: This is provided if you need some extra support for a just a few hours each day or each week.

Sheltering Hands Care can also provide short-term respite care if you have to attend a family emergency or other commitments. We ensure that your loved one always has someone there to help them if you’re not around. With our expert carer assessments in place, we are able to provide the highest quality respite care breaks to your friends and family.
