Companionship
What is Companionship care?
Companionship care provided by Sheltering Hands Care is designed for those who are prone to loneliness or have been experiencing loneliness for some time. Our compassionate and trained carer companions visit the individual's home and spend time with them, assisting with simple tasks, playing games, and encouraging them to go out and about if they wish. Our Companionship care service can be tailored to meet the individual's needs, ranging from several hours a day to just a few hours a week. This can make a significant difference in their day-to-day life, as loneliness can lead to depression and exacerbate existing health conditions. Social interaction is a fundamental aspect of human life, regardless of whether the person is an introvert or an extrovert. The network of friends and family that surround them helps them feel valued and supported.
In addition to companionship
In addition to this fulfilling and empowering service, a senior companion can provide any number of services designed to help the senior live comfortably and safely, including:
- Assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Help with bathing, grooming, and hygiene.
- Transportation services.
- Help with housekeeping and laundry.
- Assistance with shopping, preparing, and serving meals.
- Medication and exercise reminders.
In short, Companion care can help a senior stay active and social, while making sure that their essential needs are met.
